Fun…..and Funny!
Enjoying the week-end in many ways and with all family members makes me realize that the ‘Holiday Season’ has just begun……in addition we have two family weddings. Nov. 20th brings sweet Dana’s wedding and Dec. 18th our Pipo and Melissa Jo will be wed….
On Friday, Charlie and I went to Joshua’s school for the costume parade of walking around the boardwalk at Carillon. Seeing all these little children in their fantasy costumes was so precious….
There were a few costumes that were actually a ‘pain in the butt’ to the young ones wearing them….a young boy that was a ‘shark’ with long tail dragging and hot fur really had a problematic costume yet he stayed dressed for the entire lake parade….
One of my favorites was a precious little ‘female pirate’ named Tess….
She actually made you believe she could participate in Mutiny on the Bounty for real!
Our Joshua was, of course, Spiderman….remember his birthday party in July? He keeps the world safe for all of us in his ’good over evil’ game playing….last night as Britt and I took him around the neighborhood for his ’treats’…..he insisted that we stand back and he ’go to the door himself’…
What fun we had…..listening to his description of what was ‘happening’ around him…..he liked it that one man gave him ‘two eyeball candies’ instead of one because everybody has two eyeballs except some pirates….
On Sat. many of us went to Chad’s ‘new house-open house’ for family and friends. Joshua thinks he can play pool and ‘beat his Pops’….because he does! Pops sees to that!
Going to Chuck’s church yesterday in Brooksville gave us a spiritual retreat. Chuckie and Melissa Jo gave me an update of their wedding plans plus a tour of the Golf & Country Club for their reception.
Which brings me to today…..the day after “Halloween” is known as….All Saints Day……
When I lived in Germany I had a dear Catholic friend that was in my prayer group and Eleanor had a tradition whereby she would choose three people to bless and say ‘thank you’ to on All Saints Day…..
I have adapted her tradition……today I choose…..Chuckie /‘Pipo’ and Melissa Jo…..and…..someone I secretly admire…..who shall remain….anonymous…..
These recipients are not ‘perfect saints’ but real down to earth human beings who have in some very significant way……enriched my life tremendously in the last year….. I pray blessings of ‘the Good Life’ back to them…..
Now that I think about it…..everyone I know does that as well!
What a ‘blessed’ person I am…..
…..Happy Saints Day You‘ll!
