Panama Canal Zone....teens meet at Bahama Breeze and Celebrate The Good Life!

Yesterday was a great day of seeing a 'Dream Come True'
for my husband, Charlie....
Charlie was a 'military brat' and graduated from high school
in the Panama Canal Zone...
For years he 'lamented' again and again...."I can never have
a 'class reunion' because we are all scattered around the world!"
Lo and behold, 'the world' was put together through the
worldwideweb.....
As a result, yesterday we met in Orlando with Joan & Jerry
from the East coast of Florida, while we came from the West
coast of Florida...
The years dropped away.....the teens from days ago was
much in evidence as they looked at their high school album 'The Zonian'
and reminisced from face to face on each page...
Needless to say, Charlie was thrilled...
As a result I made two new unique and wonderful friends....
Listening to all their tales from years past...Kuwait, Egypt,
London, Peru, Vietnam, Paris, Germany, Israel.....and on and on....
I realized that Charlie was right when he said, "we are scattered
all over the world!"
And yes, there will be a class reunion in July 2007 at
Rosen Shingle Creek Resort & Golf Club in Orlando where we met yesterday.
This is sponsored by the Panama Canal Society which has thousands of members...
As Walt says..... "It's A Small World!" after all....

I have to add a recent devotion that I read a few days ago....it really
applies to all the diverse people that we meet and those that
are in our life on a daily basis.....

UNIQUE

What a joy it is to know that God has created each of us
to be special and unique!
Each of us is a beautful, one-of-a-kind creation.
Pure joy comes with celebrating our unique differences.
Each individiual we meet has the potential to express all
manner of God-given gifts, and we can help support and
encourage the expression of such gifts.
Beauty comes in many different shapes, colors, and sizes,
and God treasures each of us, just as we are.
This world remains complete and whole as we live our
lives remembering that we are precious and unique children
of God, created to express God's love in our own individual and
diverse lives.

Yesterday as I conversed with Joan & Jerry, hearing about their
daughter who is a missionary in Peru along with her pastor husband
and their three children....I was in awe of the beauty and uniqueness
of......these truly good people!
Then hearing of their son who is certainly a scholar....
an intellectual Bible interpreter and writer as well....
it seemed as if life had come 'full circle'....for you see dear Joan,
was remembered by Charlie as 'being real smart' and a 'studier'....
and Jerry was a "James Dean' look alike and good fun-loving,
adventure kind of guy...
Actually Joan said her major was....Biology....and Jerry traveled
the world after having graduated from the Merchant Marine Academy
and became a career Navy man...
Is it any wonder that their life produced such unique and gifted children?
This kind of happenings.....like yesterday....is something to Celebrate....
And so we did!
