Tough Love

My devotion today speaks of 'Tough Love' reality....it says this...
"Goodness puts limits on  kindness.
There comes a time when you have to put your foot down and say, "This is wrong, and I won't put up with it."  There are some areas where kindness must give way to judgment.  And there are times when mercy is incompatible with justice and justice takes precedence over mercy.
Jesus forgave the woman taken in adultery, but exhorted her not to return to her life of sin.
And there are times when we need to say, "This has to stop, and it has to stop now."
Jesus did not confuse kindness with tolerance of improper behavior.
Seek God's wisdom in the area of goodness.
He will show you when to extend mercy and when to draw the line..."
