Frances goes to Satisfied Woman’s Retreat
What an adventure I have experienced over the last few days….and so has millions of other people as well. Yes, Florida has been paid a visit by Frances, the Tropical Hurricane.
Going to Orlando on Thursday Sept. 2 for the Satisfied Woman’s Retreat and being forced to lengthen our stay two extra days at the beautiful Gaylord Palms was really a blessing in disguise. We could not leave the hotel and was ‘forced’ to enjoy their hospitality. What a beautiful place to rest, enjoy our new friendships with women from everywhere….(greetings Charlie, Bonnie, Alana, Angela, Martha, Pat and many others)….and REST!!!
The storm raged but our hotel was built to withstand Hurricane 5 forces so we felt safe….Beside that there were 1,500 women of the ‘faith’ praying night and day….Actually had mountain top experiences while the storm raged on….
This morning , Sept. 6th, we had to leave our Shangri La behind…Tony had a flat tire on his truck and winds were howling but we weathered the storm and returned to Tampa/Clearwater safe and sound.
Many women were trying to fly out so there was much shuffling going on and since God is still in the Miracle business….He took care of His ‘girls’.
Gaylord Palms is a winner in my book. They certainly took care of us in a first-class manner. Since they had previously scheduled this week-end as a “Best of Florida Festival”, there was all kind of music and dramas going on. Children and adults were entertained continuously..
The Villa de Flora Marketplace served the most wonderful Mediterranean buffet from France, Italy, Greece, Spain, Turkey and North Africa.
Actually Florida Magazine cited Villa de Flora as being the #1 best place in Florida for Brunch. We ate lunch buffet there, dinner buffet there and Lynn and Tony even ate their breakfast buffet! A gourmet delight indeed it was each and every time..
See pictures below of our forced stay at the Gaylord Palms Hotel and how very much we enjoyed…The Good Life…thanks to Frances!
