Nothing seperates us from others and God, as one of the 'ugliest' of wrongs...... the sin called.....INGRATITUDE.....
Recently I saw this trait magnified in a person who 'refused' to accept a beautiful wrapped present that was presented to them from another family member.
I was shocked!
One of the first things most parents teach their children is the simple act of saying 'thank you' to someone who is kind and polite to them and shows it in favorable or generous ways.
Seeing adults who 'behave like ungrateful spoiled brats' is a sad commentary on the 'state of the heart' and even a simple thing called 'manners'.
The word 'manners' means.... way of being: the characteristic way in which somebody behaves.
There is 'good' manners and there is 'bad' manners. This we are taught from an early age 'in the South'.
How hard is it to say a simple...
My prayer:
"Lord, You who have given me sooooooo much,
please give me one thing more ~
a 'continuous' grateful heart."
Psalm 118:28 says it best,
"You are my God, and I will give YOU thanks;
You are my God,
and I will EXALT YOU!"
