Celebrating our Anniversary with Lynn & Chuck...

Yesterday was a great day of celebrating...going to Busch Gardens for a few hours was fun and then all the calls and cards from everyone made it a day of continued celebrating.
Unexpectedly Chad had to go to New Orleans on business but we celebrated with him by phone anyway....he and his Dad took the boat out on the ICW the day before so it has been a week of celebrating years of committed LOVE!

TIME...NOW Time...

As I am hurrying about my week, getting ready for a great boating 'bacation' next week in Punta Gorda with family and friends......I have to STOP!

My mentality has changed from 'savoring the moment' to....
get er done...and fast....
What happened?
The answer lies in what I read today (fast) in my daily devotional....
It says:
TAKE TIME TO LAUGH: It is the music of the soul.
TAKE TIME TO PLAY: It is the source of perpetual youth.
TAKE TIME TO PRAY: It is the greatest power on earth.
TAKE TIME TO LOVE AND BE LOVED: It is a God-given privilege.
TAKE TIME TO BE FRIENDLY: It is the road to happiness.
TAKE TIME TO GIVE: It is too short a day to be selfish.
TAKE TIME FOR GOD: It is the way to life...
I will just have to play the short video below of 2 year old, Lil Chuck as he so proudly shows his Mom, Dad, Pops, Uncle Matt, Tia Ash and I how brave he is about dunking his head underwater. And he is. brave....a few weeks ago he was wearing 'swim wings' in the pool but after so much boating with his Mom and Dad, he has many water antics to 'show off' '....
knowing that 'we can never come back to this moment' reminds me that......
I must treasure moments such as these.
Below is another.....Uncle Chad 'took the time' to design a small picture for our Dylan whom we call "dill pickle"and send it out to all of us....
TAKING TIME FOR PRICELESS MOMENTS......is worth....the time!

Let's Dance, Let's Laugh Now, Let's do Dessert!

As you all know, I usually do not post things like 'forewards' on e-mails....
I like originality......
Today is an exception.
Below is one that is a reminder to STOP and smell the roses of life....have a 'Victorian tea Party' with your special 'girls', act silly with the children in your life, even learn their 'language' of speaking certain words and repeat them back to them in conversation, do something....anything spontaneous! I DARE YOU!.....Read on
The timing on this message couldn't have been better!
It really hits home!
I, too, have a habit of putting things off.
READ THIS VERY SLOWLY.. IT IS Quite PROFOUND.

......"Too many people put off something that brings them joy just because they haven't thought about it, don't have it on their schedule, didn't know it was coming or are too rigid to depart from their routine.
I got to thinking one day about all those people on the Titanic who passed up dessert at dinner that fateful night in an effort to cut back.
From then on, I've tried to be a little more flexible. How many women out there will eat at home because their husband didn't suggest going out to dinner until after something had been thawed?
Does the word "refrigeration" mean nothing to you?
How often have your kids dropped in to talk and sat in silence while you watched 'Jeopardy' on television?
I cannot count the times I called my sister and said , "How about going to lunch in a half hour?"
She would gas up and stammer, "I can't. I have clothes to wash, my hair is dirty.
I wish I had known yesterday, I had a late breakfast, It looks like rain" And my personal Favorite: "It's Monday."
She died a few years ago. We never did have lunch together.

Because Americans cram so much into their lives, we tend to schedule our headaches.
We live on a sparse diet of promises we make to ourselves and other family members who love us…
Our thinking, “When all the conditions are perfect! “We'll go back and visit the grandparents when we get Steve toilet-trained.
We'll entertain when we replace the living-room carpet.
We'll go on a second honeymoon when we get two more kids out of college.”
Life has a way of accelerating as we get older.
The days get shorter, and the list of promises to ourselves gets longer.
One morning, we awaken, and all we have to show for our lives is a litany of "I'm going To," "I plan on," and "Someday, when things are settled down a bit."
When anyone calls my 'seize the moment' friend, she is open to Adventure and available for trips. She keeps an open mind on new ideas. Her enthusiasm for life is contagious.
You talk with her for five minutes, and you're ready to trade your bad feet for a pair of roller blades and skip an elevator for a bungee cord.
My lips have not touched ice cream in 10 years. I love ice cream.
It's just that I might as well apply it directly to my stomach with a spatula and eliminate the digestive process. The other day, I stopped the car and bought a triple-Decker.
If my car had hit an iceberg on the way Home...I would have died HAPPY!!!
Now...go on and have a nice day.
Do something you WANT to...not something on your SHOULD DO list.
If you were going to die soon and had only one phone call you could make,
who would you call and what would you say?
And why are you waiting?
Have you ever watched kids playing on a merry go round or listened to the rain lapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight or gazed at the sun into the fading night?
Do you run through each day on the fly?
When you ask "How are you?" Do you hear the reply?
When the day is done, do you lie in your bed with the next hundred chores running through your head?
Ever told your child or grandchild, "We'll do it Tomorrow."
And in your haste, not see his sorrow?
Ever lost touch? Let a good friendship die? Just call to say "Hi"?
When you worry and hurry through your day, it is like an unopened Gift...Thrown away.... Life is not a race. Take it slower. Hear the music before the song is over.
Send this or a note to family and friends that enhance your life saying,
" I cherish our friendship and Appreciate all you do.

"Life may not be the party we hoped for... But while we are here we Might as well dance!"

A Mother's 'Heart Desire'....

"I want my daughters to be beautiful, accomplished and good;
to be admired, loved and respected;
to have a happy youth, to be well and wisely married,
and to lead useful, pleasant lives,
with as little care and sorrow to try them as God sees fit to send."

Things I have.....Learned

I am re-reminded of these things.....

I've learned that, no matter what happens, how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow.

I've learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she handles four things:driving in traffic, the elderly, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights.

I've learned that, regardless of your relationship with your parents, you'll miss them when they're gone from your life.

I've learned that making a "living" is not the same thing as making a "life.."

I've learned that life sometimes gives you a second chance.

I've learned that you shouldn't go through life with a catcher's mitt on both hands.

You need to be able to throw something back.

I've learned that if you pursue happiness, it will elude you.

But if you focus on your family, your friends, the needs of others, your work and doing the very best you can, happiness will find you.

I've learned that you can do a lot of good in the world~if you don't care who gets the 'credit' for it.....

I've learned that whenever I decide something with an open heart, I usually make the right decision.

I've learned that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one.

I've learned that every day, you should reach out and touch someone.

People love that human touch -- holding hands, a warm hug, or just a friendly pat on the back. I've learned that I still have a lot to learn!

TIME...NOW Time

Time as elusive as grains of sand flowing through an hourglass.
What you think will never pass ...does.
What we wait with great anticipation... arrives all too soon.
What is left are memories like snapshots
in a forgotten photo album of the passing time.
The above was written by Charlie's class mate, Louis Barbier...
Louis is a great writer and his poetry creates profound thinking...
Below is some of the same kind of thoughts that I wrote on these
blogs a few years ago...
Time....
Time leaps forward It does NOT stand still
I am not yesterday Nor yet am I tomorrow
I am only.....today
What I need to learn from the past that is good...
I take with me into today’s experience....
Today I can CHANGE or rearrange.... M E.....
The moment of change.....is NOW.

"Tell Us....Tomorrow "
Two wise men, walking down the road of Time,
saw Tomorrow approaching dimly in the distance.
They shouted, ...”Tell us, Tomorrow, what are you like?
Shall we fear you.....or feast you?”
.....And Tomorrow answered, in tones that sounded clearly through the midst. ....
”Come to me neither with anxiety nor with procrastination,
but with faith and hope and with.....
Today’s work well-done... .....
You can not know ahead what I am like,
but when you reach me,
you shall see me through the eyes of.....
what and who ...
.......YOU are...NOW.”

Volunteers Needed...

This 'Daylily' is named...Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow....
Below is a poem from long days ago...
This poem is relevant for Today and important to our....Tomorrow...

Children look for grown-ups to show them how to live;
When we try to fool them, they see through us like a sieve.
Volunteers are wonderful and will help to meet the need,
But we must change the literature on which our children feed.
We must teach and model absolutes of love, and justice, too;
Prove to them that what we say, is just what we will do.
There is one book, and it alone, will help attain success.
It is the book, our fathers brought, to tame this wilderness.
They used the Bible as their guide, the written Word of God;
And found the wisdom written there, the greatest on this sod.
Whether it was in the home, in public, or in school,
The Bible was the blueprint that became their greatest tool.
Let's trash the recent literature before it is too late;
Teach again, the basic values, that made our nation great.
Surely it is evident, without a single doubt,
That truth and right must be invoked to help our children out.
So, let's scour all the nation, and get folks to volunteer
That believe the principles our precious kids should hear.
If they are dependable, and use the proper tact,
Volunteers can help to get our children back on track.
