Radiance of the Seas Cruising....or Running Away From Home Again!

Having just returned from a wonderful cruise, Charlie and I are 'ready to go again' believe it or not!
This is only the 2nd time we have cruised 'alone' because we usually travel with our own entertainment aka: Pat & Walker, Sally & Sam, Betty & Ray D. and Annie P. & Dockie.
Charlie booked this cruise on short notice, good price, excellent port etc. and my
only 'fear' was sitting at a table of strangers for our evening meals....
and being the really 'strange' ones ourselves!
Lo and Behold, we were blessed with some of the most wonderful and fun people ever!
Janet & Dennis and Karen & Rick and 2 other couples were great dining companions
and by the time we parted we felt like we had been with 'family'.....
Even in ports it seemed like we kept running into each other...
Needless to say, it is the 'people' who were once strangers,
that made this cruise FABULOUS!!!
Leaving Tampa Port with Chad's round condo, The Towers, in back...
Thanks, Chad, for free parking and pick up!

Welcome Aboard Lunch.....let the FUN begin....
Charlie finds his favorite spot on the back deck with spectacular ocean view.
We had breakfast every morning here....Charlie loved the wind blowing 'his hair'!
Of Course, Gator Man finds a Sports Area
The beach in Costa Maya was beautiful....
                                                         the water was great!
Having our hotel, food, and transportation nearby was a great 'comfort'....
Charlie makes friends everywhere...this young man, Haynes from India,
became a favorite as he served our coffee and cleaned and cleaned after us...
Cozumel day we found a neat local cafe, good salsa and chips,
2 Margaritas for $5.00 price, 2 local beers for $1.00 etc.  Out of the blue from a nearby alley we saw a Congo Line with Janet & Dennis, Karen & Rick our dining partners.   Charlie grabs them to join us and as a result we were our own entertainment!   Upon leaving, we meet our other 4 dining companions who just returned from the day at Passion Island.  Unfortunately for me, I did not make pictures of this encounter except of my dear Honey.......TOO BUSY HAVING FUN!!!
Janet & Dennis, an awesome couple!
Janet and I shared our 'faith' with each other and the Jewish/Christian bond
between us was one of completeness in Love.
We became Sisters~of~the~Heart!
I did make a parting picture of all of them as we were leaving
but for some reason it did not come out ....
wish I had pictures of the 'spills' we had along the way....
This says it all....
There is no thrill like the thrill of making a new discovery.
God hides the greatest treasures in the places we least expect.
God says,
"By the way, I'm easy to find, I am wherever there is love. "

Why Is There Color?

This is the month of the 'Changing of the Leaves'....
It is especially vibrant along the Blue Ridge Parkway...
Trees and their colors:
Oak leaves tend to turn brown or red or a mix of those two.
Hickory leaves tend to turn bronze colored.
Aspen leaves tend to turn golden colored.
Dogwood leaves tend to turn a mix of purple and red.
Maple tree leaves vary quite a bit in autumn color. Red maple will turn scarlet. Sugar maple will turn
orange-ish/red. Black maple will turn bright yellow.
Elm tree leaves tend to simply fall off without really changing color much before falling.
Why do some trees turn into a collage of radiant maroon, red, orange, and yellow colors in the fall? Trees are green in the summer because chlorophyll, a green pigment in the leaves, absorbs red and blue light from the sun. The light reflected from the leaves appears green to our eyes.
Chlorophyll is an unstable substance, and bright sunlight causes it to decompose rapidly. Therefore, plants must continuously synthesize and regenerate it. The shortening days and cool nights of autumn, however, interfere with this process. As chlorophyll breaks down, the green colors of the leaves begin to fade. Some trees change from green to bright yellow as the chlorophyll degrades. In others, the action of sugar in the leaves creates a red pigment, causing the leaves to turn maroon, purple, and bright red as the chlorophyll fades.
But why do we have color? It seems to serve no practical purpose—at least none that scientists can discern. And why are there photoreceptors in our eyes that enable us to see it?
I believe that God’s goodness is the point of His creation.
He is “good to all, and His tender mercies are over all His works” (Ps. 145:9).
He colored the world for our childlike delight. He’s like that, you know.
God, the engineer of all ......
"The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament shows His handiwork."
