Breathing Deeply is.....Healthy!

Trivia
How much oxygen does your brain use?
The average brain comprises 2 percent of a person's total body weight. Yet it requires 25 percent of all oxygen used by the body, as opposed to 12 percent used by the kidneys and 7 percent by the heart.

Interesting info, huh?
I also read that approximately 65% of my body is oxygen.
As I breathe, I am ALIVE and refreshed with each breath I take.
Breathing out expels the old stale air....breathing in fresh pure air fuels my brain, refreshes my blood cells and supplies me with energy.
With my every breath, I am renewed and rejuvenated!
Exhaling stale air can also release the toxins of worry, fear, doubt and past mistakes.
Inhaling I can breathe in goodness of life and peace.
I thank God for my every breath of life because simply
Breathing is....LIFE!

"The Spirit of God has made me,

and the Breath of the Almighty gives me life...."   Job 33:4

Today I WILL Make a Difference

Today I will make a difference.
I will begin by controlling my thoughts. A person is the product of his thoughts. I want to be happy and hopeful. Therefore, I will have thoughts that are happy and hopeful. I refuse to be victimized by my circumstances. I will not let petty inconveniences such as stoplights, long lines, and traffic jams be my masters. I will avoid negativism and gossip. Optimism will be my companion, and victory will be my hallmark. Today I will make a difference.

I will be grateful for the twenty-four hours that are before me. Time is a precious commodity. I refuse to allow what little time I have to be contaminated by self-pity, anxiety, or boredom. I will face this day with the joy of a child and the courage of a giant. I will drink each minute as though it is my last. When tomorrow comes, today will be gone forever. While it is here, I will use it for loving and giving.
Today I will make a difference.

I will not let past failures haunt me. Even though my life is scarred with mistakes, I refuse to rummage through my trash heap of failures. I will admit them. I will correct them. I will press on. Victoriously. No failure is fatal. It's OK to stumble...I will get up. It's OK to fail...I will rise again.
Today I will make a difference.

I will spend time with those I love. My spouse, my children, my family. A man can own the world but be poor for the lack of love. A man can own nothing and yet be wealthy in relationships. Today I will spend at least five minutes with the significant people in my world. Five quality minutes of talking or hugging or thanking or listening. Five undiluted minutes with my mate, children, and friends.

Today I will make a difference.

Coincidences???

Have you ever had a 'feeling,' a 'impression,' a 'intuition' in your heart and mind ,
kinda like a instinctive knowledge about someone or something?
Later you may find out that this person or happening was experiencing something 'out of the ordinary' at that very time?   Or you just happened to run into someone who was on your mind?  Is this just a 'coincidence?
A coincidence is defined as chance happening: something that happens by chance in a surprising or remarkable way.
Since I am a ' prayer' person I wrote this simple poem.....

Nothing that I think or do
Is mine or mine alone
So when I bow my head in prayer
I am then, very much aware
Of a power, a heart, a Love
That imparts Himself  from  the heavens above
When answers come, the skeptics say....
"Oh, it is just another 'coincidence' today!"
Yet, all I know and all I see
When I 'quit' praying.....Coincidences stop happening for me!!!!

When the Lord calls our loved ones home, He leaves a gift of memories in exchange.
Memories are the legacy of love.
May happy memories fill your thoughts and  bless all our family during this time of transition....

Riches of Life

To realize
The value of a sister/brother
Ask someone
Who doesn't have one.

To realize
The value of ten years:
Ask a newly
Divorced couple.

To realize
The value of four years:
Ask a graduate.

To realize
The value of one year:
Ask a student who
Has failed a final exam.

To realize
The value of nine months:
Ask a mother who gave birth to a stillborn.

To realize
The value of one month:
Ask a mother
Who has given birth to a premature baby..

To realize
The value of one week:
Ask an editor of a weekly newspaper.

To realize
The value of one minute:
Ask a person
Who has missed the train, bus or plane.

To realize
The value of one-second:
Ask a person
Who has survived an accident.

Time waits for no one.
Treasure every moment you have.
You will treasure it even more when
You can share it with someone special.

To realize the value of a friend or family member:
LOSE ONE.
Remember....
Hold on tight to the ones you love!

A special tribute to Firpo....my husbands brother who passed away yesterday.
Firpo's grandson, Juan Carlos, said it best in his tribute to his Grandfather on Face Book.
"Firpo Fernandez, a great man, a great father, a great grandfather, a great- great, and a great-great-great grandfather.... you left us with the greatest gift of all.... the example of what a human being should be, dedicated to your family...your dedication represented the highest quality for five generations. Rest in Peace( Firpo Construction) THE CHIEF !"

      Firpo & Marin on their 50th Anniversary...Feb. 14, 1997

Dear ones, I just received word thru my precious daughter, Lynn, that our dear Norma just now passed away.  Yes, we were expecting it.....but the reality is sooooo painful.
The loss of this vital, loving, 'good cheer' girl is....
un-replaceable.
Norma's faith was a giant of inspiration to everyone.....
She always made people happy around her
and was a ray of sunshine  to light a room or a life.
 Norma was a 'Get~r~Done' person....
As my heart cries now....I hate to let her go even knowing that she is finally free
from her disease and frailities.
Norma was prepared for Heaven and tried to take all of her family, friends and everyone
she met with her....and she did this with actions of LOVE......
Norma....a true and genuine WOMAN OF EXCELLENCE.
I love her dearly....and forever.
Norma & I on June 6, 2010 celebrating her 46th Birthday
Norma with her two daughters, Savannah & Marissa.....God Bless her family.....with peace.

Wow, How Time Flies!!!

Busy days of life  filled with work, fun, family and events of importance seem to take the wings of time and fly like the wind.
Sure would like to 'stop time' at certain given points....and just 'savor the moment' or enjoy it unhurriedly.
It seems as if  time is on fast-forward.
We all have the same 24 hours in each day and the choice of how to use it...
Certain 'chapters' of our lives require blocks of time that is necessary ie: young children, teens, etc.
As I was reading the Psalms this morning, I found peace in these words.
Psalm 90:12-17....
"Teach us to use wisely all the time we have.
When morning comes, let Your love satisfy ALL our needs.
THEN we can celebrate and be GLAD for what time we have left.
Make us happy and do wonderful things for us, Your children.
Our Lord and our God, treat us with kindness and let all go well for us.
Please let all go well!"
Amen

Anniversary Celebration Cruise

We had a wonderful Anniversary celebration with our friends Pat & Walker who were also celebrating their Anniversary.
Hurricane Earl chased us away from Coco Cay with its high winds so we had to divert to 2 days in Nassau...
We have been there so many times yet we found things to do and enjoy....
The port was full of diverted ships....Nassau was happy...

Celebrating at the Sound of Music Theatre on the Monarch of the Seas Cruise....

Pat and Walker on Capt.'s night...remember Walker was recently rushed to hospital for busted appendix....
This cruise was part of his recovery therapy....and ours as well...

The wind even blew Charlie's hair!

Can you tell we had a "HAPPY" Celebration???
